Giving Voice to the Women of the Storms

The Ms. Foundation for Women's Katrina Women's Response Fund provides strategic support to meet the relief and rebuilding needs of women of color and low-income women on the Gulf Coast. By making grants to organizations throughout the region, KWRF invests in the crucial leadership and infrastructure that promotes the health, safety and well-being of women their families and communities.

As part of our capacity building efforts in the region, from August 6th-12th, 2007, the Ms. Foundation will be running two intensive radio documentary training sessions for our grantees in Gulfport, MS and Baton Rouge, LA. Women and girls who were and continue to be impacted by Katrina will come together to learn the ins and outs of radio production, guided in the process by radio documentary experts from the People's Production House. The resulting documentaries will air on Pacifica stations across the country.
